A fiction writer, an environmental researcher, and a university professor, Vanesa L. Perillo (or V. L. Perillo) was born in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, in 1987. As a teenager, she won special mentions at several short story contests and then took some time off to pursue her PhD in Biochemistry. In 2017, she published her first book, Water Thieves, and is now in the process of making up for lost time writing more short fiction and another novel.
